8 Oct 2007 - newfield mains camp

over the weekend we ran a basic camp to introduce the new members of the scouts to camping. they learned about personal hygiene, tent organisation and also had a go at shelter building and did a map reading exercise. on the saturday night we did a wide game called torchy and on the sunday they had a go at archery. also available over the weekend was a megaball which many scouts found out was bigger than them. the explorers helped out by setting up the map exercise and also built their own shelter which they slept in. they also had a go at 4x4 driving which 2 did whilst blindfolded. keep an eye on the gallery for pics.
